Custom Designed University Lights – A Hand-Crafted Custom Collection Comes to Wellesley College

Custom fabrication is often the ideal solution when historic, architectural, or decorative lighting projects require fixtures that cannot be sourced through conventional means.
At Wellesley College’s Clapp Library, Grand Light was entrusted with the fabrication of several large steel chandeliers as part of the library’s extensive renovation. Designed to complement the building’s renewed interior while providing reliable modern performance, these fixtures demonstrate how traditional craftsmanship, engineering, and contemporary manufacturing techniques come together to create lighting solutions tailored to a project’s exact specifications.

Each chandelier began as a detailed set of 2D drawings and 3D models that guided every stage of production, from initial fabrication through final assembly before moving through fabrication, finishing, wiring, and final preparation for installation.

From concept development and engineering to fabrication, finishing, wiring, and delivery, Grand Light provides comprehensive custom fixture manufacturing services for projects of every scale. We are proud to have contributed to the renovation of Clapp Library and the creation of these distinctive chandeliers.
