New Haven Courthouse – Entry Doors

Grand Light was selected to refinish the massive courthouse doors. These giant cast and plate doors are over 8 ft tall and are estimated to weigh well over 800 pounds each. The restoration of these doors included repairing and filling holes, removing all aged finish, and an application of a new custom red rust patina.

New Haven Courthouse – Lanterns

Grand Light was selected to restore the massive front entry lanterns to their original glory. These massive cast bronze fixtures are 65″ tall and 30″ wide and are estimated to weigh 400 pounds each when fully assembled. Grand Light created a special custom recipe to replicate the original red rust hot patina finish.

United States Military Academy (West Point) – Pershing Barracks

Grand Light was selected to restore numerous large historic exterior lanterns from a renovation project for the United States Military Academy (West Point) Pershing Barracks located in West Point, New York.

United States Military Academy (West Point) – MacArthur Short Barracks

Grand Light was selected to restore the eleven original Exterior Lanterns at the West Point MacArthur Short Barracks. Fixtures required major structural repair, replication of missing components, and much patina blending to give the fixtures a consist luster.

Bodie Island Lighthouse

Grand Light restored several interior luminaires as well as three luminaires from the nearby Oil House for the of the historic Bodie Island Lighthouse in Nags Head, NC. Each luminaire was refinished and installed with new water-tight custom laser-cut gaskets and rebuilt rare porcelain sockets.

Springfield City Hall

Grand Light's artisans upgraded the bronze exterior wall sconces existing lamps to include 50W Metal Halide 120v Electronic Ballast retrofit in a watertight aluminum enclosure for the Springfield City Hall in Springfield, MA

Edgerton Park

Grand Light restored the outdoor lighting fixtures of Edgerton Park in New Haven. These lanterns are the original fixtures to this historic park and had significant finish failure, missing glass, and several components. Two lanterns were replicated to match originals that are currently missing.

Minute Man National Historical Park

Grand Light restored a crystal chandelier for the Minute Man National Historical Park. Missing glass globes with intricate patterns and broken glass arms were replicated as well as eight large crystal chains with baguette, octagon, and heavy plain spearhead crystal pendalogues.
