New London City Hall – Preservation Connecticut Award Of Merit
“The richly decorated City Council Chamber of New London’s City Hall has been carefully restored. Artists conserved the ceiling, walls, entablature and columns, then reinstated the historic color scheme and treatments, which included metallic and Greek ornamentation, through stenciling, infilling, and gold leaf application. The restored Chamber provides an affirmation of the dignity of local government.”

Yale University Schwarzman Center – Traditional Building Palladio Award
“Yale’s Schwarzman Center transforms Carrere & Hastings’ historic Commons and three floors of the adjoining Memorial Hall-components of the campus’s 1901 Bicentennial Buildings-into a social hub for the university’s undergraduate, graduate, and professional students.”

Yale University Humanities Quadrangle – AIA Connecticut Design Award
“The project [Yale University Humanities Quadrangle] repurposes historic settings, expands without adding footprint, unifies a disparate building, and clarifies wayfinding. Historic lighting was refurbished with LED and supplemented with new fixtures, resulting in 37% reduction in lighting power density.”

Oregon Supreme Court Building – DeMuro Award
“Home to the Oregon Supreme Court, the Oregon Court of Appeals, and the State Law Library, this three-story landmark [Oregon Supreme Court Building] features… an abundance of classical detailing. Modernization has provided a safer, more accessible work environment… and includes energy-efficient updates to interior systems.
Salvage and reuse of materials were employed where possible to preserve the historic character of the building, while also being mindful of embodied energy.”

Gowanda’s Historic Hollywood Theater – Preservation League of NYS Preservation Award & Preservation Buffalo Niagara Louise Bethune Award
“A small town, cultural asset has been brought back to life after 14 years of committed efforts by Gowanda’s Historic Hollywood Theater organization and the preservation design team, to provide continued use by the Southern Tier region, as its founder originally intended almost 100 years ago.”

“From 2008 to 2021, the non-profit organization and Flynn Battaglia Architects completed eight phases of construction to rehabilitate and restore the interior and exterior of the historic theater efficiently, bringing the building up to current codes and updating mechanical and theater systems. “
