Project Description
Connecticut College, located in New London, Connecticut, was originally founded in 1911 as the Connecticut College for Women in response to an existing institution’s decision to stop admitting women. Their initial endowment came from financial assistance from the city of New London raising $135,000 in conjunction with numerous wealthy benefactors, residents, and the surrounding communities. The school’s campus consists of a series of Gothic quadrangles, a sweeping Campus Green, and Modernist buildings.
Today, Connecticut College is a thriving private, coeducational liberal arts institution known for developing extraordinary students who are drawn here by rigorous, interdisciplinary academics and an integrative residential life program, as well diverse opportunities to explore their interests through funded internships, community outreach and international study.
