Grand Light was selected to restore the original exterior lanterns located on the IRS Headquarters. These fixtures had experienced different levels of deterioration from damaged hinges which opened for lamp servicing, separating frames, discolored acrylic panels, missing parts, and a failing finish. Each lantern was mechanically repaired, any missing parts were replicated by using the existing as models and each component was bead blasted using 20-30 Plastic Bead blast components to remove all coatings at Nozzle pressures between 75psi – 85psi. A polyester powder coating by Tiger Drylac was then applied followed by the addition of new Markolon GP Pebble a translucent, UV stabilized, polycarbonate lenses.
