Project Description

Since 1888, the National Geographic Society headquarters in Washington, DC have been the home of explorers and center of operations. In the most significant expansion in the organizations history, the headquarters is transforming into a hub that connects the Society headquarters, an expanded museum, and new public spaces. The reimagined Base Camp will be an experience that attracts and engages visitors of all backgrounds and unleashes the explorer in everyone.

Grand Light is restoring the historic exterior lanterns that will be featured in the Base Camp renovation project.
