Project Description

Newark Penn Station, a centerpiece of Pennsylvania Railroads, is one of the busiest rail stations in the country. The Art Deco & Neo-Classical building was designed by renowned architecture firm, McKim, Mead, and White, and opened in 1935. The Pennsylvania Station, Newark became the only intercity rail station in northeastern New Jersey in the 1970’s. Today the station is still one of the busiest of the NJ Transit System, seeing almost 30,000 riders per day.
