Project Description
Located in Rochester, Michigan, Oakland University is an exceptional academic institution which serves much of the Metro Detroit region and currently enrolls more than 20,000 students. The university was founded after Matilda Dodge Wilson and her husband Alfred Wilson donated their estate to Michigan State University. The school was originally known as Michigan State University-Oakland but was renamed to Oakland University in 1963 and currently resides on 1,443 acres of wooded hills and meadows.
Grand Light was selected to create a custom octagon lantern for Elliott Tower at Oakland University. The lantern consists of a custom cast aluminum frame and beautiful glazing frosted seedy glass. The fixture uses modern lighting technology with a LED A19 bulb.
