Otesaga Resort Hotel Crystal Chandelier Restoration

Project Info

Job Site Cooperstown, NY

Project Description

In 2007, the Otesaga Resort served as host for the National Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony of Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripken Jr. In an untimely accident, an antique chandelier in one of the resort’s function halls fell 20 feet to the ground. Extensive damage to the crystal arms, the chandelier’s steel structure, nickel finished components, and electrical workings called for a complete restoration of the entire piece. The Otesaga’s management contacted Grand Light’s restoration specialists, who then traveled to Cooperstown to pick up the pieces of the shattered chandelier and begin the restoration process. Miraculously, the restoration team was able to successfully and artfully complete the large scale restoration in time for the ceremony.
