Saint Mary of Czestochowa

Historic Pendant, Sconce, & Ceiling Lighting Restoration

Project Info

Job Site New Kensington, Pennsylvania

Project Description

Saint Mary of Czestochowa Church, located at 857 Kenneth Avenue in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, original frame structure was constructed in 1982 to meet the needs of the town’s Polish immigrant population. On April 8th, 2020, the church was among the buildings heavily damaged by a tornado in western Pennsylvania, with much of the roof blown off during strong winds and heavy rains.

Grand Light is restored numerous historic, water-damaged interior pendants, wall sconces, and ceiling lights included in the St. Mary of Czestochowa renovation project. The damage to the church’s roof had left the fixtures exposed to the elements which had resulted in severe water damage to the fixtures’ finishes. The restoration of these historic fixtures required Grand Light artisans to remove the existing painted finish, and apply a new custom aqua leaf aztec gold finish.

Our hope is that the restoration of these beautiful, historic fixtures will provide a small step in bringing St. Mary of Czestochowa back to its former glory!
