Wall Sconce Restoration Projects

 

Bodie Island Lighthouse

Grand Light restored several interior luminaires as well as three luminaires from the nearby Oil House for the of the historic Bodie Island Lighthouse in Nags Head, NC. Each luminaire was refinished and installed with new water-tight custom laser-cut gaskets and rebuilt rare porcelain sockets.
 

Yale University – Dwight Memorial Chapel

Grand Light was selected to restore six antique iron pendants and seven wall sconces from Yale University's Timothy Dwight College. Each luminaire was carefully media blasted to remove the original finish, internally rewiring to adhere with UL specifications, repaired, and refinished.
 

Yale University – Calhoun College

Grand Light restored historic chandeliers, wall sconces, outdoor hanging lanterns, and outdoor wall mounted lanterns for Yale University's Calhoun College located in New Haven, CT.
 

Yale University – Brady Memorial Laboratory

Grand Light was selected to refurbish an antique chandelier and a matching set of wall sconces that would be re-installed in the main entrance way of Yale School of Medicine's Brady Memorial Laboratory in New Haven, CT.
 

Weehawken High School

Grand Light restored historic 70 year two-light wall sconces with hand-painted mica shades bearing Theodore Roosevelt's initials for the Weehawken High School in Weehawken, NJ.
 

Dakota High School

Grand Light was selected to restore and replicate components of the 40 original lighting fixtures, bringing them back to their original beauty. The restored fixtures included 11 ceiling fixtures, 15 pendant lights, and 14 wall sconces.
 

Springfield City Hall

Grand Light's artisans upgraded the bronze exterior wall sconces existing lamps to include 50W Metal Halide 120v Electronic Ballast retrofit in a watertight aluminum enclosure for the Springfield City Hall in Springfield, MA
 

Gowanda’s Historic Hollywood Theater

Grand Light was selected to restore the theater’s light fixtures. Among the fixtures are 12 floral accented wall sconces, 5 large flower shaped recessed lighting, more than twenty pendant lights of different sizes, and 13 exit signs.
 

Cornell University – Sigma Phi Fraternity House

Grand Light restored historic fixtures for Sigma Phi Fraternity at Cornell University Campus in Ithica, NY. There are several different types of fixtures including chandeliers, wall sconces, ceiling mounted fixtures and outdoor lanterns.
 

Yale University – Silliman College

Grand Light's restoration specialists worked on over a hundred indoor and outdoor fixtures of various sizes which included extensive metal reshaping, refinishing, fabrication of custom intricate glass panes, and the rewiring and utilization of UL listed components.
