A University “Enlightened” – An LED Advantage Upgrade
Grand Light is restoring and modernizing numerous historic interior chandeliers, pendant and ceiling lights from a prominent Ivy League University.
The goal of this project was to take the existing luminaires and utilize our LED Advantage Systems to enhance the performance of the fixture while significantly decreasing its energy consumption and maintenance.
Included as a part of Grand Light’s services, our in-factory customer consultation and review meetings are available for all historic lighting and custom lighting projects.
During the meeting, client representatives and the project design team were able to review LED modification mock-ups, provide feedback on the designs, and offer insight into revised specifications and updated project details.
An approved design for massive historic chandeliers included (8) new custom LED Advantage up-lights, mounted on every other arm, and finished in a matching antique brass patina. The end result is a uniform, beautifully illuminated fixture with increased ceiling light levels, improved energy efficiency, and easier maintenance.
Grand Light also designed a new LED Advantage System to be added to the top of the fixture crown with the existing rod modified and extended while still preserving the original historic frame, components, mounting points, and chain connections.
