Malaga Cove – Type DA Fixtures Complete
New Haven, CT – Fabrication on the final lighting fixture for the Magala Cove library has been completed. Every component on this fixture and custom made, include in the opal flashed glass diffuser on the bottom. Inspiration for this design came from the client when an original photograph had been submitted showing a fixture of this style to be original to the building. At some point during the course of renovations at the library, the original fixtures had been discarded. During this phase of renovations, it was the architects intent to bring the original fixture back into service at the library.
This is the original photograph that was available through library archives which was used to recreate the original pendants that had disappeared overtime.
Based off of the historic photograph a drawing was made that was used for fabrication.

Custom made white flashed opal glass was fabricated to serve not only for decorative purposed, but as a bottom diffuser for the four florescent lamps.
Shown is the completed DA fixture. All components were made of Aluminum and were powder coated a Statuary Bronze color.
