American Artisans At Work Preserving History

New Jersey Restoration Project Receives New Custom Acrylics

Grand Light artisans have had a busy winter restoring these massive historic lighting fixtures from the Newark Penn Station’s Main Waiting Room! Each fixture was carefully disassembled, packed, and transported safely from New Jersey back to our factory.

The fixtures were then media walnut blasted to preserve the existing silver-plated finish. Interior components received a new white finish.

The project required the replication of 156 of custom acrylic panels! Our artisans utilized our in-factory kiln to heat and curve the panels by hand.

Each individual panel was fitment tested and checked for light leaks.

All fixtures were wired in accordance with UL standards, assembled and tested.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates from this historic lighting restoration project!!
