New Haven, Conn., July 18th, 2008 — Grand Light, a Connecticut based lighting and design company, has launched a brand new client-focused website in response to increasing inquiries regarding their lighting restoration services.
The website, www.grandlight.com was created to act as a reference for not only new inquiries, but also for existing clients, who can now track the progression of their projects through a frequently updated blog, found at www.grandlight.com/blog.
Steve Stockman, the owner of Grand Light says, “The projects we originally had listed at GrandLight.com were numerous, but we felt that the history behind these pieces, and all of the work that we put into restoring or replicating them wasn’t being expressed. A lot of our projects have a lot of history behind them, and it’s really fascinating to see the different stages of a restoration as it progresses.”
Founded in 1929, Grand Light has an extensive and prestigious history of light restoration and custom light replication. “Going back through our previous projects” Stockman remarked, “I remembered the stories behind some of the fixtures and the buildings that they came from. When we work with an antique, our restoration team puts a lot of time into researching and consulting with specialists for historical accuracy. It’s really a fascinating process and I want our clients as involved as possible through the entire restoration, from beginning to end. A website designed specifically for the client was the best way to do that.”
The specific restoration services of the company are also showcased on www.grandlight.com. The website details, “Our capabilities include, but are not limited to: metal fabrication, welding, brazing, soldering, metal polishing and finishing, sandblasting, glass fabrication and laser cutting. Previous projects have required the utilization of these techniques, and we also have experience disassembling and cleaning fixtures, stripping paint and old finished from metal pieces, recreating missing components, refinishing metals, and replacing damaged glass components. Additionally, Grand Light’s team has experience working with many different styles of fixtures, and from many different settings – residential, institutional private and commercial.”
“We wanted to really convey to our clients and potential clients that from beginning to end, Grand Light’s restoration team is capable of performing every task required in a restoration or custom replication project” Stockman said, “And frankly, we do it the way it’s supposed to be done – with the historical accuracy of the piece as the top priority.”
Stockman continued, “We hope that with the launching of the website, more people will not only become aware of our restoration services, but of how qualified we are. We’re ready to take on any new projects that present themselves.”
Grand Light has restored, replicated and manufactured custom lighting fixtures at every scale, including various projects are Yale University, antique pieces from the Lincoln Square Theater in Decatur, IL, The Otesaga Resort and Hotel in Cooperstown, NY, The Shubert Theater in New Haven, CT, and other prestigious projects nation wide.
